In the reference read above, the Election Commission of India has announced the schedule for Biennial elections to the Legislative Council of Andhra Pradesh from East-West Godavari & Krishna-Guntur Graduates' and from Srikakulam-Vizianagaram-Visakhapatnam Teacher's Constituencies due to which MCC is in force in the Sixteen (16) Districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Parvathipuram Manyam, Anakapalli, Alluri Sitharama Raju (Part), Kakinada, Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Konaseema, East Godavari, West Godavari, Eluru (Part), Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Palnadu & Bapatla (Part) of A.P. State. As per the schedule the Poll will be held on 27.02.2025 (Thursday) and the Counting of the votes will be on 03.03.2025 (Monday).
In this context, the Government hereby authorize the Collectors & District Magistrates of poll going Districts to declare a local holiday on the day before poll (26.02.2025), the day of poll (27.02.2025) and on the day of counting of votes (03.03.2025), as per the necessity, for the Offices / Institutions where polling and counting centers are established for the ongoing Biennial elections to the Legislative Council of Andhra Pradesh from Graduates' and Teacher's Constituencies. On local holidays the Treasuries, Sub-Treasuries and all other offices/institutions in the District will however function as usual.
