While communicating a copy of the minutes of the meeting on implementation of MDM in Govt. junior colleges held on 20. 12. 2024 through virtual mode, all the Regional Joint Directors of School Education and District Educational Officers in the State are requested to communicate the same to the Head Masters of mapped Schools, NGOs and etc with a request to follow the instructions as issued there in scrupulously.
They are further requested to take necessary steps well in advance for effective implementation of the MDM Scheme in Govt Jr. Colleges.

The Government of Andhra Pradesh have decided to extend the Dokka Seethamma Madhyahna Badi Bhojanam (MDM) scheme to all junior colleges across the state from 1st January 2025. There are 475 junior colleges and studying around 1,44,923 students across the state.

Engaging of Cook Cum Helpers:
Sri B. Srinivasa Rao I.A.S Director, MDM has issued instructions for the engagement of Cook Cum Helpers (CCHs) in schools, where junior colleges have been mapped based on enrolment (70% of the college roll). One CCH should be assigned where a junior college is mapped to an NGO, ensuring that all guidelines for the Mid-Day Meal (MDM) scheme are strictly followed.
Status: Instructions will be issued to the DEOs to engaging CCHs.
The Director, Intermediate has issued instructions to junior college principals on procure vessels, utensils for transportation of hot cooked food and tumblers and meet the expenditure from accumulated special fee fund/CMD amount.
Status:
The Director, MDM instructed to process the file for procurement and supply of kitchen utensils to the mapped schools .
Indents: The Director, MDM has instructed to place the indent for january-25 manually basing on enrolment at Head Quarters and also instructed to enable the service in mobile app to place the required indents from Feb-2025 onwards by the Head Masters of the mapped Schools .
Status: Instructions were issued to technical team (TCS) for development Accordingly.

- Principal, Govt Junior college, vuravakonda has informed that the mapped high school ZPHS vuravakonda is not willing to provide MDM
Status:- The Director, MDM has instructed the District Educational Officer, Anathapuram to take necessary action on providing of MDM in Govt Jr.College,Vuruvakonda.
- Principal, Govt Junior college Rajam, Vizianagaram has informed that, ZPHS Rajam is not willing to provide MDM as the schools is already having 1174 enrollment.
Status:- The Director, MDM has instructed the Principal, Govt Jr.College, Rajam, Vizianagaram to take necessary steps for engagement of Implementing agency as per norms.
General instructions:
- Conduct coordination meeting at District level for smooth implementation of scheme in junior collages.
- Invite public representatives for launching of program on scheduled date.
- Junior college principals are responsible for engaging vehicles for transportation of cooked food from mapped schools.
- Principals of junior colleges are advised to procure steel closed containers, and it is recommended to refer to the models being utilizing by NGOs before purchasing
- In cases where colleges with large enrolments find that Self-Help Groups (SHGs) are unwilling to prepare food, a separate agency will be engaged and assigned to these junior colleges. indents are also placed at junior colleges.
- Principals of junior colleges must inform the Headmasters (HMs) about the upcoming holidays well in advance for taking steps for providing hot cooked food , since the holiday schedules may differ between schools and junior colleges.
- All junior colleges shall ensure the maintain potable drinking water
- One CCH may be engaged for boiling of eggs where the college is mapped to NGOs
- Transportation cost for hot cooked food from school to college will be reviewed as per local market rates and finalized.
- Principals, junior colleges must update the daily meals opted count to the HM for preparation of food. Indent will also be placed based on requirement provided by the Principals
- The decision to serve ragi malt to intermediate students will be taken after the scheme is streamlined.
