LIC GOLDEN JUBILEE SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME - 2024 FOR STUDENTS BELONGING TO THE ECONOMICALLY WEAKER SECTIONS, FOR PURSUING HIGHER STUDIES.
OBJECTIVE
The objective of the scheme is to award scholarships to meritorious students belonging to Economically Weaker Sections, so as to provide them with better opportunities for higher education and employment.
SCOPE
The scholarship is to be awarded for students studying in India in a Government or Private college/university. It shall also cover technical and vocational courses in Industrial Training Institutes/ Industrial Training Centres affiliated with the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) and also Integrated Courses after XII Std. Scholarships shall be of two types; General Scholarship and Special Scholarship for Girl Child.
ELIGIBILITY
Candidates who meet following criteria are eligible to apply for scholarship.
General Scholarship
After Class 12th (XII):
- All candidates who have passed Class XII exam (or its equivalent – Regular/Vocational) / Diploma with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA grade in the Academic Year 2021-22/2022-23/2023-24, and
- Have taken admission in the academic year 2024-25 for pursuing first year degree course in the field of Medicine, Engineering, Graduation in any discipline, Integrated Courses, Diploma Course in any field or other equivalent courses, Vocational Courses through Government recognized Colleges /Institutes or courses in Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), and
- Have parents/guardian with an annual income (from all sources) not exceeding Rs.2,50,000 per annum (please refer clause 7 (ii) – for relaxation).
- All candidates who have passed Class X exam (or its equivalent) with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA grade in the Academic Year 2021-22/2022-23/2023-24, and
- Have taken admission in the academic year 2024-25 for pursuing first year education in the field of Vocational / Diploma Courses through recognized colleges/institutions or courses in Industrial Training Institutes (ITI), and
- Have parents/guardian with an annual income (from all sources) not exceeding Rs.2,50,000 per annum. (Please refer clause 7 (ii) – for relaxation).
Special Scholarship for Girl Child (For Two Years)
- Female Candidates who have passed Class X exam (or its equivalent) with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA grade in the Academic Year 2021- 2022/2022-23/2023-24, and
- Have taken admission in the academic year 2024-25 for pursuing higher studies in the first year of Intermediate/10 + 2 pattern/ Vocational or Diploma Courses through Government recognized colleges/ institutions or courses in Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) for two years, and
- Have parents/guardian with an annual income (from all sources) not exceeding Rs. 2,50,000 per annum. (please refer clause 7 (ii) – for relaxation).

జనరల్ స్కాలర్షిప్: 2021-22, 2022-23,2023-24 విద్యా సంవత్సరంలో కనీసం 60 శాతం మార్కులతో టెన్/ ఇంటర్/ డిప్లొమా ఉత్తీర్ణులై ఉండాలి. విద్యార్థి తల్లిదండ్రుల కుటుంబ వార్షిక ఆదాయం రూ.2,50,000 మించకూడదు. 2024-25 విద్యాసంవత్సరంలో ప్రభుత్వ లేదా ప్రభుత్వ గుర్తింపు పొందిన పాఠశాలలు/ కళాశాలలు/ సంస్థల్లో ఏదైనా ఇంటర్, డిగ్రీ, మెడిసిన్, ఇంజినీరింగ్, ఇంటిగ్రేటెడ్, డిప్లొమా, వృత్తి విద్య లేదా తత్సమానమైన కోర్సులు అభ్యసిస్తున్న విద్యార్థులకు ఉపకార వేతనం అందుతుంది.
స్పెషల్ గర్ల్ చైల్డ్ స్కాలర్షిప్: పదో తరగతి తర్వాత బాలికల ఉన్నత విద్యను ప్రోత్సహించడానికి ఇది ఉద్దేశించింది. 2021- 22, 2022-23, 2023-24 విద్యా సంవత్సరంలో కనీసం 60 శాతం మార్కులతో పదో తరగతి ఉత్తీర్ణులై ఉండాలి. అభ్యర్థి తల్లిదండ్రుల కుటుంబ వార్షిక ఆదాయం రూ.2,50,000 మించకూడదు. 2024-25 విద్యాసంవత్సరంలో కుటుంబ వార్షిక ఆదాయం రూ.2,50,000 మించకూడదు. 2024-25 విద్యాసంవత్సరంలో ప్రభుత్వ లేదా ప్రభుత్వ గుర్తింపు పొందిన కళాశాలలు/ సంస్థల్లో ఇంటర్మీడియట్, ఒకేషనల్, డిప్లొమా, ఐటీఐ కోర్సు అభ్యసిస్తున్న బాలికలకు ఉపకారవేతనం అందుతుంది.
అందే సాయం: జనరల్ స్కాలర్షిప్నకు మెడిసిన్ (ఎంబీబీఎస్, బీఏఎంఎస్, బీహెచ్ఎంఎస్, బీడీఎస్)విద్యార్ధులకైతే ఏటా రూ.40వేలు ఇస్తారు. రెండు విడతల చొప్పున ఏడాదికి రూ.20,000 అందుతుంది. ఇంజినీరింగ్ (బీఈ, బీటెక్, బీఆర్క్) విద్యార్థులైతే ఏడాదికి రూ.30వేలు ఇస్తారు. రెండు విడతల్లో రూ.15,000 చొప్పున చెల్లిస్తారు. డిగ్రీ, ఇంటిగ్రేటెడ్ కోర్సులు, డిప్లొమా, ఒకేషనల్ కోర్సులు చేసేవారికైతే ఆ కోర్సు పూర్తయ్యేవరకు ఏటా రూ.20 వేలు చొప్పున ఇస్తారు. ఈ మొత్తాన్ని రెండు విడతల్లో రూ.10,000 చొప్పున బ్యాంకు ఖాతాల్లో జమ చేస్తారు.
* స్పెషల్ గర్ల్ చైల్డ్ స్కీమ్ కింద ఎంపికైన విద్యార్థినులకు ఏడాదికి రూ.15 వేల చొప్పున ఇస్తారు. పదో తరగతి పూర్తయిన తర్వాత ఇంటర్, ఒకేషనల్/ డిప్లొమా కోర్సులను పూర్తి చేసేందుకు ఈ మొత్తాన్ని రెండు విడతల్లో 7,500 చెల్లిస్తారు.
ఎంపిక విధానం: కనీస అర్హతగా పేర్కొన్న టెన్త్ లేదా ఇంటర్ పొందిన మార్కుల మెరిట్, కుటుంబ ఆర్థిక పరిస్థితి ఆధారంగా అభ్యర్థులను స్కాలర్ షిష్నకు ఎంపిక చేస్తారు. తక్కువ ఆదాయ వర్గాలకు ప్రథమ ప్రాధాన్యం ఉంటుంది.

AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIP
General Scholarship
- An amount of Rs.40,000/- per annum, will be awarded to the selected Scholar who pursues higher education in the field of Medicine (MBBS, BAMS, BHMS, BDS) and shall be payable every year in two instalments Rs.20000/- each during the duration of the course, subject to eligibility.
- An amount of Rs.30,000/- per annum, will be awarded to the selected Scholar who pursues higher education in the field of Engineering (BE, BTECH, BArch) and shall be payable every year in two instalments of Rs.15000/- each during the duration of the course, subject to eligibility.
- An amount of Rs.20,000/- per annum will be awarded to the selected Scholars who pursues education in the field of Graduation in any discipline, Integrated Courses, Diploma Course in any field or other equivalent courses, Vocational Courses through Government recognized Colleges /Institutes or courses in Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and shall be payable every year in two instalments of Rs.10000/- each during the duration of the course, subject to eligibility.
Special Scholarship for Girl Child
An amount of Rs. 15,000/- per annum will be awarded to selected Girl Child for Special Scholarship after class 10th for pursuing higher studies in Intermediate/10 + 2 pattern/ Vocational or Diploma Courses through Government recognized colleges/ institutions or courses in Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) for two years and shall be payable every year in two instalments of Rs.7500/- each during the duration of the course, subject to eligibility.
PAYMENT OF SCHOLARSHIP
The above rates of Scholarship are applicable for new entrants only. Students who are already receiving scholarship from LIC GJF from the earlier years shall continue to draw scholarships at the same rate fixed at the time of their selection till the completion of their course.
The Scholarship amount will be transferred to Bank Account of the selected scholar through NEFT. In case the candidate is selected for scholarship, the Bank Account details and IFSC code and copy of cancelled cheque with name of beneficiary is compulsory. In case of merged banks, the new IFSC Code of the Bank should be mentioned. The Bank Account to which the amount to be transferred has to be active and in case it is dormant, the same should be activated before the details are provided. Maximum balance allowed under the bank account should also be checked.
CONDITIONS FOR SCHOLARSHIP
- This scholarship is not meant for post-graduation studies.
- Candidates are eligible for scholarship if they secured at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA grade in the previous final examination and the their parents / guardians total annual income from all sources does not exceed Rs.2,50,000/- per annum. Relaxations in upper limit of annual income criteria from the present Rs.2.5 lakhs to Rs.4 lakhs shall be granted only in (widow/single mother/unmarried) is the sole bread earner of the family.
- Short listing and final selection of candidates shall be done on merit based percentage of marks obtained in ‘Regular Scholarship’ category after completing their 12th will be given priority over those who apply after completing their 10th std during the selection process.
- In the event of tie in the percentage of marks, preference will be given to students whose parents have the lower income.
- Candidates who are already receiving Scholarship from other Trust / Institution will not be considered for LIC GJF Scholarship. This rule does not apply to candidates who are receiving Scholarships from the Government (State or Central) either at the time of selection or after being selected for Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme.
- Candidates who gain lateral entry in 2nd Year Engineering Degree courses or take regular admission in the 1st Year of Engineering Degree courses after completing Diploma shall be eligible for GJF Scholarship provided they have passed Diploma with 60% or equivalent CGPA grade in the academic year 2021-22/2022 - 23/2023-24.
- Candidates passing Class XII (vocational) and pursuing studies in any stream as laid down under the Scholarship Scheme 2023 will be considered for Scholarship.
- Candidates who change their stream after getting selected for Scholarship and the course duration is greater than the stream for which the student is selected, such students will continue to receive scholarship only for the duration for which they were originally selected. However, if candidate switches to a stream with lesser duration, then scholarship will be payable for the duration of the stream with lesser duration.
- Candidates who are pursuing courses under any stream through Correspondence or Part Time (Evening or Night Classes) and/or through Open Universities are not be eligible for Scholarship.
- Candidates who are pursuing Chartered Accountant (C.A)/CS/ICWA or similar self study courses are not eligible for Scholarship.
- If there are insufficient applicants for ‘Special Scholarship for Girl’ category, Female candidates pursuing Diploma course in any stream after Class X who had applied for ‘Regular Scholarship’ category but do not qualify for final selection may be considered for ‘Special Scholarship for Girl’ . However, scholarship tenure will be limited to TWO years & scholarship amount will be lesser as per category. This information must be communicated to the candidate and consent must be obtained before finalizing the selection.
- For continuation of General scholarship under Medical and Engineering stream, the candidate must secure at least 55% marks or equivalent SGPA & CGPA grade with pass in all subjects in the previous Semester examination of the course for which Scholarship will be discontinued. If the candidate fails to clear any semester with required percentage or equivalent CGPA/SGPA grade then candidates losses eligibility for further scholarship.
- For continuation of General Scholarship under Graduation (Ars/Science/Commerce) and other courses, the candidate must secure at least 50% marks or equivalent SGPA & CGPA grade in the previous Semester examination of the course for which scholarship is awarded, failing which the scholarship will be discontinued. If candidate fails to clear any Semester with required percentage or equivalent CGPA/SGPA grade then candidates loses eligibility for further scholarship.
- To continue receiving scholarship under ‘Special Scholarship for Girl’ category, candidate must secure at least 50% marks and pass all subjects in 11thstd examination.
- As a rule Scholarship is awarded to only one student in a family. However, this policy may be relaxed to allow two candidates in a family if the candidate applying later is a female or both applicants are female. Furthermore, if a male and a female candidate from same family apply simultaneously, the female candidate will be given preference.
- The students should be regular in attendance for which the yardstick shall be decided by the competent authority of the school/college/university.
- Candidates are required to submit Income certificate which should be on self-certification basis by way of an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper, duly notarized, for self-employed parents and from employer for employed parents supported by documents (from revenue department) such as land held in the name of parents.
- Claims for Scholarship arrears will not be accepted if submitted more than 12 months after the end of academic year to which the claim pertains.
- If a student violates any terms and conditions of the scholarship, the scholarship may be suspended or cancelled.
- If a student is found to have obtained a scholarship by false statement/certificates, his/her scholarship shall be cancelled forthwith and the amount of the scholarship paid shall be recovered, at the discretion of the concerned Divisional Administration of LIC.
- The 112 Divisional Offices of LIC will each select thirty (30) students. Of those 30 students, twenty (20) students will be awarded General Scholarship - 10 for Boys & 10 for Girls, based on merit and eligibility. However, if there is a shortfall in number of boys in selection, the shortfall may be filled by girls, and vice Remaining 10 scholarships will be awarded to girls under Special Scholarship for Girl Child, based on merit and eligibility
- Divisions having adequate online applications and selected full quota shall prepare a waiting list of 10 boys & 10 girls for Regular Scholarship and 10 girls for Special Scholarship for Girls (Waiting list will be prepared for those categories where quota is exhausted by the Divisional Office). After the selection process is complete, if there is shortfall in selection of candidates, the Competent Authority at LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation at its discretion may allow the Divisions having waiting list to select additional candidates from the waiting list subject to overall limit of 2240 (112x20) Scholarship for Girls.
