REGISTRATION PROCEDURE FOR ENTRANCE TEST
The candidate has to register for appearing B.Ed. Admission Entrance Test on University portal www.braouonline.in only. Commencement of Payment and Submission of Online Application Forms from 21-12-2024. Registration fee of Rs. 1000/- (Rupees One Thousand only) and S.C.,/S.T/PWD candidates may pay Rs. 750/- (Rupees Seven Hundred and fifty only) through online on or before 21-12-2024. With a late fee of Rs. 500/- applications can be submitted on or before 25-12-2024.
Note: The Candidates who have completed their Under Graduation / Post Graduation on or before July, 2024 are eligible for Admission and appear for Entrance Test.

- Fill the application form ON-LINE based on your certificates/documents. (Please verify Model Online Application form and instructions to fill the application ON-LINE in the University portal).
- Candidate alone is responsible for furnishing of wrong information in the application form. The University is not liable
- After submitting the form, take a print out and pay the registration fee mentioning the reference number of the application.
- Registration fee 1000/- (Rupees One Thousand only) and S.C./S.T/PWD candidate may pay Rs. 750/- (Rupees Seven Hundred and fifty only) through online. Please obtain receipt for the payment of the fee.
- If the candidate fails to pay registration fee and submit the application in time, He /She must pay a late fee of 500/- till 26-12-2024.
- Please keep the printed Application Form and Fee receipt carefully with you for further reference and for submission at the time of Certificates
- Make a note that the process of registration to appear for Entrance Test will be possible only after the payment of Registration Fee.

1. The Candidate should be an Indian Citizen. 2. Candidates with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor's Degree (B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.C.A./B.Sc. (Home Science) /BBM/BBA/B.E/B.Tech. with specialization in Science and Mathematics) or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission into the programme. 3. For BCA candidate must pass intermediate with concern subjects to opt the methodology. 4. The candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC/PH should have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the qualifying examination. 5. However, Weightage will be given to the candidates fulfilling any one of the following conditions: Parent of a child with disability, possessing Disability Certificate issued by the Competent Authority (Sadarem Certificate). Possession of any RCI approved Diploma 6. The reservation for SC/ST/BC/PWD categories shall be as per the rules in vogue. 7. EWS quota seats will be allotted to the eligible candidates. Note: 1. INTRODUCTION
The University, initially known as Andhra Pradesh Open University (APOU), was set up on 26th August, 1982 through an Act of the A.P. State Legislature (APOU Act 1982). Subsequently, the University was renamed as Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University (Dr.BRAOU) on 26th October 1991 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The establishment of this University, the first of its kind in India, heralded an era of affirmative action on the part of the Government of Andhra Pradesh to provide opportunities of Higher Education to all sections of society to meet the changing individual and social needs. Even after bifurcation of the State the University has been extending Higher Education opportunities to Telangana as well as Andhra Pradesh. States The University offers Under Graduate/ Post Graduate / P.G. Diplomas / Certificate Programmes / Research programmes in various disciplines. All the programmes offered by the University are recognized by Distance Education Bureau (DEB), New Delhi.
DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
The Faculty of Education was set up in November 2004 with the Department of Education. The Department has been offering B.Ed. ODL Programme, Recognised by UGC, Approved by NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education), from 2008 in Telugu medium and B.Ed. Special Education ODL Programme in Telugu and English media, Recognised by UGC, Approved by RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India), from the Academic Year 2009. The Certificate programme in Literacy and Community Development (CLCD) and Certificate Programme in Early Childhood Care and Education (CECE) were started in 2011.
BACHELOR OF EDUCATION PROGRAMME [B.Ed.-ODL]
The B.Ed. Programme offered by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) is an innovative one. The University issues Self-instructional material and Information Technology along with Interactive Personal Contact Programmes. It aims at developing understanding and competencies required by Practicing Teachers for effective teaching- learning process at the secondary stage. The Programme is essentially a judicious mix of theoretical and practical courses to develop the Practicing Teacher’s knowledge, skills, understanding and attitudes. Illustrations and cases of relevant situations and need-based activities comprise the core of each course of the programme.
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
The B.Ed. (ODL) Programme aims to enable practicing teachers to achieve the following objectives:
- To strengthen the professional competencies of trained in-service teachers in Elementary
- To develop an understanding of the various methods and approaches of organizing learning experiences for secondary school
- To understand the nature of the learning process and develop skills required in selecting and organizing learning experiences.

- Minimum period to complete the programme is 2 1/2 Academic

MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION
The medium of instruction is English and Telugu. The students are required to submit the Assignments and Records, Teaching Practice and Practical Lesson Records in the same medium which he/she opted at the time of admission. A student is allowed to change Methodology before the commencement of 3rd Semester 1st workshop on payment of prescribed fee. The students may change the medium of instructions on payment of prescribed fee before first semester examinations or without appearing the examinations.
TUITION FEE
For Entire Programme of two and half years (i.e. 5 Semesters) Total fee Rs. 40,000/- (Rupees Forty Thousand only) Rs.30.000/- (Rupees Thirty Thousand only) for tuition fee+ Rs. 10,000 (Rupees Ten thousand only) towards Learner Support Services) to be paid at the time of Admissions. The payment must be made through online only. Examination fee has to be paid as per the norms of the University. (Please note: No cash payments)
ELIGIBILITY TO APPEAR FOR B.Ed. ENTRANCE TEST

- Candidates must complete their qualifying examination by June/July, 2024 are only eligible to appear for the entrance examination.
ADMISSION PROCEDURE
In Admissions will be done through web option based on the merit in the Entrance Test conducted by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University. The total sanctioned seats are 500 in B.Ed. Special Education-ODL Programme in three Specializations for the University.
The number of candidates to be admitted in each area of Specialization (TENTATIVELY) in the University shall be as follows:
- Visual Impairment (VI): 100 *
- Hearing Impairment (HI): 200 *
- Intellectual Disability (ID): 200 *
The candidate has to choose any one Specialization i.e. VI/HI/ID at the time of admission counselling as per their interest. Seats will be allotted based on the merit in entrance test following reservation rules.
The number of seats may change depending on the RCI approval.
SCHEME OF THE ENTRANCE TEST
- The entrance test will be held on 31-12-2024 from 00 PM to 4.00 PM at the selected examination centres.
- Candidates are informed to present in the examination hall one Hour before the commencement of the examination.
- The Entrance Test is divided into 2 parts for 100 Marks with 100 Objective type (Multiple Choice)
- The entrance test will be held in English & Telugu media

MODE OF ENTRANCE TEST
Online Entrance Test will be conducted. Candidates must appear Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
RANKING
Candidates will be ranked in the order of the merit in the B.Ed. (SE) Entrance Test. In case of candidates getting equal marks, Part- II marks will be taken into account to decide relative ranking. In the case of candidates getting equal marks in two parts of the test paper, age shall be taken into consideration for relative ranking among the bracketed candidates. The rank obtained in B.Ed. (SE) Entrance Test - 2024 is valid for entry into B.Ed. (SE)-ODL Programme for the Academic Year 2024-25 only.
NOTE:
- The Qualifying mark in the Ed. (SE) Entrance Test – 2 0 2 4 for all candidates is 35. For candidates belonging to SC/ST communities there is no qualifying mark for ranking.
- Request for Re-Totaling and Re-evaluation or personal identification of scripts will not be entertained.
(GOMS No. 92, Education Department, dated 16-11-2006 and GOMS No. 13 dated 27/05/2017, GOMS 14 & 16 and the amendments thereafter).
- Mathematics: Candidates with B.A./B.Sc. with Mathematics as one of the subjects, or B.C.A/B.E./ Tech. Candidates with Mathematics at Intermediate level as a group subject.
- Physical Sciences: Candidates with Sc. who have studied Physical Sciences (Physics or Chemistry) or Allied Material Sciences as group subjects or B.E/B.Tech. and BCA candidates with Physical Sciences (Physics and Chemistry) at Intermediate level as group subjects
- Biological Sciences: Candidates with B.Sc./B.Sc.(Home Science) who have studied Botany and Zoology or Allied Life Sciences under Part - II group subjects or E/B.Tech./B.C.A. candidates with Biological Sciences at Intermediate level as group subjects.
- Social Sciences: All candidates with A./B.Com./B.B.M. or B.C.A. with Social Sciences at Intermediate level as group subjects.

ATTENDING THE WORKSHOPS
Workshops/Instructional Classes /Academic Counselling will be conducted 12 days in each Semester. This excludes School Based Activities, Micro Teaching, Teaching Practice, Internship and Final Practical Examinations. The Workshops and other Classes will be scheduled in different phases as per the requirement of the B.Ed. (SE)-[ODL] Programme. The University has the right to conduct the Workshops and other Classes at any time during the Programme/Semester/Year. 85%Attendance during the Workshops and other Classes is compulsory. Otherwise, the students will not allow to appear for the semester end examinations.
B.Ed. (SE) PROGRAMME CENTRES
The Programme Centre is the contact point at the local level. The candidate has to select the programme centre based on his/her merit/rank. The programme centres provides Audio-Visual equipment, Library and other facilities in all working days
- There are 500 Seats (both English & Telugu media) in Ed. (SE)-[ODL] Programme.
- In each Programme Centre, Maximum 50 seats will be filled in Specialized Subject
- Candidate can opt any centre based on his/her merit and availability of
- The University doesn’t shift students from one centre to another at any cost (No mutual transfers are allowed).

INSTRUCTIONAL SYSTEM
The University follows the instruction in regular workshops as well as the multimedia approach of instruction.
The University follows the multimedia approach of instruction, which comprises:
- Self-instructional printed course material
- Assignments for assessment and feedback
- Audio-video programmes
- Radio Lessons Broadcast
- Tele-conference with two-way audio and one way video
- Workshop
- Self-instructional Printed Material: The printed self-instructional study material for both theory and practical components of the programme will be supplied to the learners in the form of books for every
- Audio-visual Material: The learning package contains audio and video cassettes, for better clarification and enhancement of understanding of the course material given to the A video programme is normally of 25-30 minutes duration. The audio and video cassettes may be listened to and screened at the Programme Centres respectively, during specific sessions, which are duly notified for the benefit of the learners.
In addition to learning support at the Programme Centre, the video programmes are telecast on National Network of Doordarshan. Selected stations of All India Radio also broadcast the audio programmes. The information is provided through SMS only to the learners periodically.

Candidates are advised to download the Hall Tickets/Rank Cards/Model Call Letters from the University website www.braou.ac.in. Hall Tickets will be available in the University website four days prior to the Entrance Examination.
