The Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Mission (APSECM), acting as the 'State Designated Agency' (SDA) for the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Government of India, is responsible for regulating and enforcing the provisions of the Energy Conservation Act (EC Act) of 2001 to achieve the state's energy savings targets.
It is to inform that the APSECM has been Conducting National Energy Conservation Week from the period 14thDecember to 20thDecember every year. As a part of this National Energy Conservation Week, APSECM is planning to organize state wide Short Video Competition for 8th, 9thand 10thstandard students on the topics related to Energy Efficiency and Energy Conservation.
Key Competition Details:
- Eligibility :The competition is open to all school children of 8th, 9th and 10th standard
- Theme: Energy Efficiency and Energy conservation.
- Duration: The video should be maximum of 2 minutes in length.
Prize Details:
- 1st Prize: ₹20,000
- 2nd Prize: ₹10,000
- 3rd Prize: ₹5,000
- Consolation Prizes (10 Winners): ₹2,000 each
- Winners & School authority will receive certificates, during the Valedictory Function of the National Energy Conservation Week.

By taking part in this video competition, students will have the opportunity to showcase their creative ideas and solutions for promoting energy efficiency, while also learning about practical methods for conserving energy in daily life. This initiative will foster a sense of responsibility among students and inspire them to adopt eco-friendly practices that can contribute to both local and global sustainability goals.
The District Education Officers (DEOs) have been pivotal in the success of the National Energy Conservation Week in previous years, coordinating and ensuring active student participation in various competitions.
In this regard, it is requested that you issue necessary instructions to the District Education Officers to circulate this information widely both public and private schools in their jurisdictions and encourage maximum participation in the Short Video Competition. DEOs, in coordination with school principals and authorities, should ensure that students are aware of the competition and motivated to engage maximum.

Guidelines for Short Video Competition on Energy Efficiency and Conservation (For School Children)
Eligibility:
- The competition is open to all school children of 8th , 9th and 10th standard ( AP only) who can participate either individually or in groups
- Participants shall send their nomination through respective school authorities only.
Theme:
- The video should focus on energy conservation, energy efficiency, and sustainable practices. Participants can illustrate ways to save energy at home, school, or in the community, and promote environmentally-friendly habits.
- Possible topics may include, but are not limited to:
- Simple energy-saving techniques (practical ways to save energy in daily life)
- How energy efficiency contributes to a sustainable future.
- Innovative solutions for energy conservation.
- Role of children in promoting energy-saving practices
- The role of individuals, communities, and technology in creating an energy-efficient future
Video Specifications:
- Duration: The video should be maximum of 2 minutes in length.
- Format: The video must be in MP4 format and should have clear, audible sound and good video quality.
- Language: The video should be in Telugu/English/Hindi
- Original Content: Videos must be the participant's original work. Plagiarism or using third-party copyrighted content is not encouraged.
- Videos submitted in previous years' short video competitions are not eligible for this year's competition.
Judging Criteria:
- Relevance of theme (40%): How well the video communicates the theme of energy conservation and efficiency.
- Creativity and originality ( 30% ): How innovative and original the idea is.
- Clarity (20%): How clearly the message is conveyed in the video.
- Visual Appeal and quality of video (10%): Use of visuals, graphics, and sound to engage the viewer and quality of video
Submission Instructions:
- Nominations shall be submitted through google form using the link https://forms.gle/g1PcAtYicfkm8VrT6
- A completed registration form, including the student name, school and contact details, must accompany the submission.
- Participants shall send their nomination through respective school authorities only.
- There is no limit on the number of nominations a school can submit.
- Videos submitted in previous years' short video competitions are not eligible for this year's competition.
Prizes and Recognition:
- Winners will receive a cash prize along with a certificate, presented by the Honorable Minister of Energy during the Valedictory Function of the National Energy Conservation Week.
- 1st Prize: ₹20,000
- 2nd Prize: ₹10,000
- 3rd Prize: ₹5,000
- Consolation Prizes (10 Winners): ₹2,000 each
- Winning videos will be showcased on APSECM’s official social media channels and website.
- School authority will receive appreciation certificate & Memento.
- By submitting a video, participants agree that their content may be used by the organizing authority for educational, promotional, and awareness
- The decision of the judges will be final and binding.
- Any incomplete, late, or inappropriate submissions will be disqualified.
- Last date for Submission of Videos : 05-12-2024 (before 5PM)
- Winners Announcement: 15-12-2024
