The attention of all the District Educational Officers and Regional Joint Directors of School Education in the State are instructed to celebrate the "National Sports Day" in Schools on August' 29th on the occasion of "Wizard of the Hockey - Dhyanchan's" Birthday. Further, they are requested to identify the 5 best schools in each district on the results of the previous year's school Games and Sports as per categories & points criteria is annexed and award the "School of Sports Excellence" to the Best 5 Schools at district level with Certificate, Memento, Shawl and Function cost of Rs.4000/- each district. The schedule for school items related to awards should be provided by the State Office.
Therefore, all the District Educational Officers, all the Regional Joint Directors of School Education, A.P is instructed to follow the guidelines for considering the finalization of the awards to the best 5 schools at district level for the academic year 2023-2024.
- All school managements under the School Education Department of Andhra Pradesh are invited to apply for the 'School of Sports Excellence' Awards.
- The concerned Headmaster/Headmistress, Physical Education Teacher, and District School Games Secretary should countersign the photocopies of the sports and games certificates of the candidates.
- The points for team events and individual events of district excellence are given in Annexure.
- The highest score achieved in each game, as well as the overall performance of schools securing the highest scores in the district, will be considered for the 'School of Sports Excellence' Awards.
- The District Educational Officer shall constitute a 5-member committee, including the District Educational Officer and the District School Games Secretary, to finalize applications at the district level.
- The list should be approved by the Collector and District Magistrate, with the District Educational Officer concerned facilitating the process.

Further, the School Games Secretary of this office is instructed to procured these items through the GeM portal or three men committee as per financial norms, and the models should be finalized on or before 25.08.2024 to ensure uniformity across all 26 districts. The Bills should be submitted to the State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha, A.P., for further payment.
