AP HORTICET B.Sc. (Hons.) 2024 ENTRANCE TEST FOR DIPLOMA IN HORTICULTURE PASSED CANDIDATES FOR ADMISSION INTO B.Sc. (Hons.) HORTICULTURE FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2024-25
ELIGIBILITY : A pass in Diploma in Horticulture course from YSRHU.
(Those who are going to complete the Diploma requirements in 2023-24 academic year can also apply, but submission of Final Memorandum of Marks-cum-Pass Certificate of Diploma in Horticulture is must at the time of Admission counselling).
Basis of Allotment: Based on HORTICET- 2024 Rank following the Presidential Order & Rule of Reservation.
AGE LIMIT : The candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission with an upper age limit of 22 years for all candidates, 25 years in respect of S.C. & S.T. candidates and 27 years in respect of Physically Challenged (Differently abled)

SG & Sports) will be held by the authorities concerned and seats will be allotted as per the priorities indicated by the officers concerned.
Allocation of seats in favour of Local Candidates in relation to Local area:
- 15% seats shall be Un-Reserved (UR) for candidates from AU / SVU Candidates from Osmania University (OU) region also can compete for these seats with HORTICET-2024 ranks.
- For the 85% local seats, the seats shall be allocated in 42 : 22 ratio in Andhra University and Sri Venkateswara University area, respectively among the candidates in relation to the local area.
- Local status Certificate: Candidate claiming local status in Andhra Pradesh (AU/SVU) by virtue of his/her migration from the State of Telangana shall submit scanned copy of Local status certificate issued in Form-III by Tahsildar of concerned along with their application (as per G.O.Ms.No.171, General Administration (SPF & MC) Department, dated 20-11-2017)
Medium of Entrance Test : English & Telugu
SYLLABUS : The Syllabus prescribed by YSRHU to Diploma in Horticulture Course.
DURATION & MARKS : Entrance test is for 2.00 hours duration and the question paper consists of 200 multiple choice objective questions.
LAST DATE FOR SUBMISSION OF HORTICET-2024 APPLICATION :
a) Application form duly filled in should reach “The Registrar, Dr.Y.S.R Horticultural University, Venkataramannagudem-534101, West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh on or before 15-06-2024 by 4.00 PM either in person or by post.
Applications received after the last date will not be entertained and Dr.YSRHU is not responsible for any postal delay.
The candidates shall apply for admission in prescribed proforma with application fee of 500/- for SC/ST and differently abled (PHC) candidates and Rs.1000/- for all other candidates. The payment shall be made through online to the Dr.YSRHU Account as detailed below or by Demand Draft drawn in favour of the “COMPTROLLER, Dr.YSRHU, payable at TADEPALLIGUDEM” on any Nationalized Bank.

ISSUE OF HALL TICKETS
The list of eligible candidates will be displayed in the University website i.e.,https://drysrhu.ap.gov.in. Original Hall Ticket will be sent to candidates address for attending the HORTICET test. If any candidate failed to get Hall- Ticket, he/she can take the Duplicate Hall Ticket from the examination centre by showing your ID card as proof.
Candidates are allowed to carry the following items with them into the exam centre 1) A simple pen 2) Hall Ticket & ID Card
QUALIFYING MARKS FOR HORTICET-2024
The qualifying percentage of marks for the HORTICET-2024 is 25% of the aggregate marks in case of General & BC Candidates, and in the case of SC/ST candidates there shall be no minimum qualifying marks for ranking the candidates in HORTICET being conducted by the Dr.YSRHU.
HORTICET-2024 RESULTS
The merit list of the candidates will be displayed in the University website. For the preparation of merit list in case of more than one candidate securing the same marks in Entrance Exam, the tie shall be resolved by considering the following:
- The percentage of aggregate marks secured in the qualifying examination e., OGPA in Diploma in Horticulture course.
- If the tie still persists, the date of birth of the concerned candidates shall be considered and elder one shall be given

- Attested copies of the marks statement of 10th standard and Diploma in Horticulture Course.
- Latest Conduct Certificate issued by the Head of the Institute last attended that he/she has never been found guilty of misconduct during the study period and never been fined or punished.
- Caste Certificate (In case of SC/ST/BC’s) issued by the Mandal Revenue Officer / Tahsildar
- Certificates issued by the concerned authorities of State in the case of Special categories like Physically (Saderam Certificate) Disabled persons, NCCs and CAP
- Latest EWS (Reservation for Economically Weaker Section) Certificate (valid for the year 2024-25) issued by the Mandal Revenue Officer / Tahsildar
- Three passport size photographs (pasted on the application form and Hall ticket).
- Proof of receipt for payment of application

ALLOTMENT OF SEATS DURING COUNSELLING PROCESS
Based on merit in HORTICET-2024 duly following Presidential Order & Rule of reservation and based on the options given by the candidate, the seat allotment will be done.
ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES TO BE PRODUCED & SUBMITTED AT THE TIME OF JOINING THE COLLEGE
The candidates granted admission, should submit the following certificates in original at the time of admission:
- Pass certificate cum Memorandum of marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying examination (Diploma)
- SSC or its equivalent examination certificate
- The Community Certificate in the case of candidates belonging to Backward classes / Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes, signed by the competent
- Bonafide or Study Certificate (6th class to Diploma)
- Residence certificate, if necessary
- Transfer certificate from the Polytechnic where the candidate last studied
- In case of candidates under Special categories (CAP / NCC / PHC) the original certificates issued by the competent
Option Form : Option Form for allotment of seat in Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture should be filled in properly and submit along with the application without fail.
