All the District Educational Officers in the State are informed that the "National Sports Day" is being conducted on 29th of August of every year on the occasion of Sri Dhyanchand's Birthday, who was Wizard of Hockey. In this regard, the Government of Andhra Pradesh, School Education Department desires to give awards to the meritorious schools as "Kreeda Prathibha Awards (School of Sports Excellency Awards).
In this connection, in response to the reference 1st cited, all the representations received, have been scrutinized and selected top 5 schools from each district (total of 130 schools) in the State of Andhra Pradesh. Further it has been arranged that all mementos and certificates shall be dispatched to the respective District Educational Officer offices.
Therefore, all the District Educational Officers in the state are instructed to organize celebrations in the presence of local authorities at the District level, presenting them with the distinguished "Kreeda Prathibha Awards" (School of Sports Excellence Awards).
Further, they are informed to issue instructions to all the school Headmasters in their jurisdiction to conduct “National Sports Day” on the 29th of August on the occasion of hockey wizard Sri Dhyanchand's Birthday and encourage the students to participate in the sports and games also create awareness of the value of sports.
