All the Regional Joint Directors of School Education and District Educational Officers in the State are hereby informed that, on 5th September, 2023 the Government proposed to celebrate Teacher’s day in the Andhra Pradesh State Headquarters.
Further, the Regional Joint Directors and District Educational Officers are informed to select the teachers from Primary Schools, Upper Primary Schools at Mandal level and High Schools at Divisional level and furnish the list of selected teachers to the District duly following the guidelines, Timelines and Selection Committees. The selected teachers are to be scrutinized with all the needed documents by the District selection committee and submit the fnal list of teachers from all managements to the State for final selection at the State level by the State selection committee.
All the District Educational Officers in the state are requested to give wide publicity through newspapers, other local mass media and social media.
The incomplete and defective proposals such as leaving the columns of proforma empty, proposals not signed by the District Selection Committee, the proposals without photographs etc will not be considered for Awards. If more than one candidate is proposed in each category or any other deviation of the above instructions, the nominations from those Districts will be rejected.
Therefore, all the District Educational Officers are once again requested to scrutinize the proposals received from the inspecting officers as per the guidelines issued and submit the same with the specific recommendations to the state selection committee with the approval of the District Collector.

SELECTION COMMITTEES:
COMMITTEE AT MANDAL LEVEL:
- Mandal Educational Officer. : Chairman.
- Headmaster of Local Government /M.P. /Upper Primary Schools : Member.
- One member from outside the Mandal (DIET, Lecturer/Headmaster of Govt./Z.P. H.S). : Member.
The quorum of the Committee shall be two (2) members. The Mandal Educational Officer shall enlist the eminent Teachers of Primary/Upper Primary Schools in his jurisdiction and place their particulars before the Selection Committee and send the selected list with recommendations containing not more than one teacher for each of the above categories, in the prescribed proforma along with the certificate of antecedents and character, Marks awarded by the Committee duly signed by all the members of the Committee and citation which shall not exceed 10 lines on each of the selected teacher, to the District Educational Officer concerned.
COMMITTEE AT DIVISIONAL LEVEL:
- Deputy Educational Officer. - Chairman
- Senior Lecturer in DIET - Member
- Eminent Educationist. - Member
The quorum of the Committee shall be two (2) members. The Deputy Educational Officer shall enlist the eminent teachers of High Schools in his jurisdiction and place their particulars before the Selection Committee and send the selected list with recommendations, not more than one teacher for each of the above categories, in the prescribed proforma along with the Certificate of antecedents and character, Marks awarded by the Committee duly signed by all the members of the Committee and Citation which shall not exceed 10 lines on each of the selected Teachers, to the District Educational Officer concerned.
COMMITTEE AT DISTRICT LEVEL:
- District Collector. : CHAIRMAN
- District Educational Officer. : CONVENOR
- Principal of DIET. : MEMBER
- Eminent Educationist. : MEMBER
- Any other District Level Officer (Nominated by District Collector). : MEMBER
The quorum of the Committee shall be four (4) members. The District Educational Officer shall place the proposals with recommendations regarding the Teachers received from Mandal Educational officers and Deputy Educational Officers before the District Selection Committee for selection of the Best Teachers.
The recommendations regarding the selected teachers, which should not be more than one teacher from each category, shall be sent in the prescribed proforma along with the Certificate of antecedents and character, marks awarded by the Committee duly signed by all the members of the Committee together with Citation which shall not exceed 10 lines on each of the selected teacher at District Level, to the Commissioner of School Education, Andhra Pradesh, Ibrahimpatnam, Vijayawada, in a sealed cover.
The District Level Selection Committee shall submit the particulars of the Selected Candidates in the prescribed proforma along with the antecedents and Character, Marks awarded by the Committee duly signed by all the members of the Committee together with a citation which shall not exceed 10 lines on each of the selected teacher Educator to the Commissioner of School Education, Andhra Pradesh, Ibrahimpatnam, Vijayawada, in a sealed cover in both Telugu and English Languages.
The final selection will be made by the State Selection Committee from the names recommended by the District Committee.

This State Level Committee selects the teachers for “State Awards” from the Selection lists submitted by the District Educational Officers in the state, duly limiting number of awards category wise.
