All the Regional Joint Directors of School Education, District Educational Officers and Additional Project Coordinators in the state are informed that the distribution of textbooks is carried out in two semesters. The Semester-1 books have already been supplied to students along with the JVK-4 student kit. Currently, the Semester-2 books are being printed and supplied to the district points.

 

In the reference3rd read above, government has accorded permission to distribute semester-2 textbooks and workbooks to the students on the following methods:

  1. Distribute semester-2 text books to 1000 schools through Amazon.
  2. Distribute semester-2 text books to remaining schools through well established MDU vehicles engaged by the Civil Supplies Department.
Further, Government declared 22nd July, Saturday as 2ndSemester book day. On this day, all the 36 Lakhs students studying in class I to IX shall be given semester 2 books.

In view of the above, All the Regional Joint Directors of School Education, District Educational Officers, Additional Project Coordinators and Managers of Government Textbook Offices in the State are hereby informed that
  1. The Managers of Government Textbook Offices in the State are responsible for preparing school-wise packages of books for 1000 schools allocated to Amazon. These packages must be ready by 15th July 2023 and should be picked up by Amazon staf and sent to the respective schools before 20th July 2023.
  2. Managers of District Textbook Offices should ensure that all Semester-2 books other than those allotted to Amazon are available at Mandal points by 16th, July 2023.
  3. For schools not allocated to Amazon, the distribution of Semester-2 textbooks will be carried out through MDU vehicles provided by the Civil Supplies department. These vehicles will be available from 18th July 2023 onwards. All Semester-2 textbooks must be distributed to schools using these vehicles on or before 20th July 2023. This will allow the Headmasters to distribute the textbooks to students on 22nd July 2023. The cost of transportation through MDU vehicles is fixed at Rs.2,600 per metric ton, including loading and unloading charges, according to Transportation Department norms. For the mandal-wise tonnage, required MDU vehicles and transportation costs refer to the attached documents.
  4. All District Educational Officers (DEOs) and Additional Project Coordinators (APCs) should get in touch with the District Supply Officer (DSO) to ensure the availability of the required MDU vehicles on 18th July 2023 at the Mandal point. Further, they are requested to procure vehicles at a rate of one vehicle for one metric ton to ensure that the entire distribution to schools is completed within one day.
  5. All Mandal Educational Officers should contact the Mandal Tahsildar to make arrangements for MDU Vehicles for the transportation of Semester-2 textbooks to school points.
  6. The entire distribution process of books to the school points through MDU vehicle transporters must be completed by 20th July 2023.
  7. DEOs should ensure that the headmasters distribute all the semester 2 textbooks to the students on the 22nd of July.
  8. All District Educational Officers and Additional Project Coordinators are requested to closely monitor the entire distribution process.
Therefore, all the Regional Joint Directors of School Education, District Educational Officers and the Managers of Govt Textbook Offices in the State are requested to:
  1. Monitor overall the textbooks distribution work and to see that every title of semester-2 textbook and workbook should reach to every
  2. If any District Text Book Manager, Mandal Educational Officer and Headmaster is found negligent or dereliction of duties on supply of textbooks to students in-time, will initiate stringent disciplinary action against the concerned as per APCS CCA Rules-1991.

Receipt of these proceedings should be acknowledged.
