ORDER:
Government have taken a decision to introduce the "Proficiency Test in Telugu Typing based on the Computers" as an alternative and equivalent qualification to the present Telugu Typewriting Test keeping in view of the replacement of manual typewriters by computers and overall digitalization of governance. In the G.O. fifth read above orders have been issued prescribing the syllabus and pattern of examination for the Proficiency Test in Telugu Typing based on Computers. The State Board of Technical Education & Training (SBTET) shall conduct the examinations twice a year. In the said G.O. it have been requested the General Administration (Services) Department to take further necessary action accordingly.
Government after careful examination of the matter have decided and hereby direct that the Proficiency Test in Telugu Typing based on Computers to be conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh shall be as an alternative and equivalent qualification to the present Government Technical examination in Typewriting by the Higher Grade in Telugu.
Accordingly, the following notification will be published in the Ex-ordinary issue of Andhra Pradesh Gazette, dated: 07.09.2022.
NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the Constitution of India and of all other powers hereunto enabling, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby makes the following amendments to the Andhra Pradesh Secretariat Subordinate Service Rules, 1997 issued in G.O.Ms.No:455, General Administration (Ser. B) Department, dated 31st October, 1997 and as subsequently amended from time to time.
AMENDMENTS
In the said rules;
- In the Annexure to rule 9, under Class —B (Other posts):
"(ii) Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Typewriting by the Higher Grade in Telugu on Government Standard Keyboard.
or
"Must have passed the Proficiency Test in Telugu Typing based on Computers conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh."
ii. against the category 1(b) "Bilingual Electronic Typesetting Operator —cum-Assistant in Law Department, for existing entry (ii) in column (3), the following shall be substituted, namely:-
"(ii) Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Typewriting Higher Grade in English/Telugu"
or
"Must have passed the Proficiency Test in Telugu Typing based on Computers conducted by State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh and Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Typewriting Higher Grade in English".
iii. against the category (5), "Senior Steno" in column (3), for entry (2), the following shall be substituted, namely:-
"(2) (a) Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Typewriting, and Shorthand by Higher Grade either in Telugu or in English and Typewriting and Shorthand by Lower Grade in the other language in which they do not possess the Higher Grade qualifications".
or
"(b) Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Typewriting Higher Grade in Telugu or Proficiency Test in Telugu Typing based on Computer conducted by State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh; and Shorthand by Higher Grade either in Telugu or English and Lower Grade in the other language in which they do not possess the Higher Grade qualifications".
