The State Election Commission issued Notification for resumption of adjourned election process of Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituencies (I4PICS) and Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies (ZPTCs) in the State vide reference 1st read above. The Model Code of Conduct was imposed in the rural areas of the entire State w.e.f. U,.04.2021vide reference 2nd read above.
The Division Bench of Hon'ble High Court in its orders dated 07.04.2021 in Writ Appeal No. 224 of 202L directed that the poll for MPTC / ZPIC can be conducted on 08.04.2021 and the counting of votes shall not take place and consequently, result of elections shall also not be declared till disposal of the Writ Petition No. 7778 of 2027.
The poll for M PTCs and ZPTCs was conducted as per the schedule on08.04.2021. However, counting of votes and declaration of results scheduled on 10.04.2021 was not taken up complying with the said orders of the Hon'ble High Court.
The Hon'ble High Court heard the arguments in Writ Petition Nos.7778,7684and 7847 of 2021 on 04.05.2021 and reserved for judgment.
In view of the above, the State Election Commission, hereby, lifts the Model Code of Conduct in the rural areas of the entire State w.e.f. 06.05.2021.
