In the reference 1st & 2nd read above, Govt. have issued orders extending the same benefits to the Physically Handicapped students and Mentally Handicapped (Challenged) for the SSC and Intermediate examinations under Open School System by the AP Open School Society, Guntur on par with the formal education system.
- In the reference 4th read above, the Director, A.P. Open School Society, AP., Guntur has reported that, Government have issued common concessions and exemptions to the Children with Special Needs (CwSN), appearing for the SSC public examinations under formal education system, vide reference 3rd read above, in suppression of previous orders in this regard, so as to retain them in the schools and to encourage them to compete their secondary education successfully.
- He has therefore, requested to permit him to adopt the above G.O., for extending the same exemptions and concessions (as detailed hereunder) to the Children with Special Needs (CwSN) appearing for SSC Public Examinations conducted by the A.P. Open School Society, Andhra Pradesh under open school system, subject to the production of original medical certificate issued by the Medical Board with minimum of 40% disability.

2 | Hearing Impairment | a. The qualifying criteria and pass marks in final examinations i.e. VI to X should be reduced from 35 to 20 (Thirty five to Twenty) marks for all subjects to students with Hearing Impairment. b. Students with hearing impairment to study only one language out of three. c. For the purpose of valuation like, Grammatical mistakes and punctuation error etc., shall be ignored. d. To provide suitable assistive devices (Abacus, Tyler frame) etc. , as per the requirement. |
3 | Specific Learning Disabilities | a. Exemption from writing 3rd language paper to students with learning disabilities. b. For the purpose of valuation like, Grammatical mistakes and punctuation errors etc., shall be ignored. c. A concession of 20 (Twenty) marks for single subject or 20 (Twenty) marks in his/her examinations form classed VI to X. d. To provide suitable assistive devices viz., calculator etc. as per the requirement. |
4 | Intellectual Disability (Mental Retardation) | a. The qualifying criteria and pass marks in examinations should be reduced from 35 to 10 (Thirty five to Ten) marks for all subjects to students with Intellectual Disability from class VI to X. b. For the purpose of valuation like, grammatical mistakes and punctuation errors, Graphs, Geometry and Maps shall be ignored. c. To provide suitable assistive devices calculator etc. as per the requirement. |
5 | Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) | a. The qualifying criteria and pass marks in examinations should be reduced from 35 to 10 (Thirty five to Ten) marks for all subjects to students with ASD of class VI to X. b. For the purpose of valuation like, grammatical mistakes and punctuation errors, Graphs, Geometry and Maps shall be ignored. |
c. Separate answer script (Thick paper) to be provided to their examinations. d. To provide suitable assistive devices calculator etc. as per the requirement. | ||
6 | Cerebral Palsy (CP) | a. The qualifying criteria and pass marks in examinations should be reduced from 35 to 10 (Thirty five to Ten) marks for all subjects to students with Cerebral Palsy of class VI to X. b. For the purpose of valuation like, grammatical mistakes and punctuation errors, Graphs, Geometry and Maps shall be ignored. c. Separate answer scripts (Thick Paper) to be provided to their examinations. d. To provide suitable assistive devices calculators and facilities like appropriate chair & table etc. |
7 | Low Vision (LV) | To provide suitable assistive devices like magnifiers, optical devices calculators as per requirement from classes VI to X. |
8 | Orthopedically Impaired (OI) | a. Scribe to be provided for the students with Orthopedically impaired whose upper limbs are affected. b. To provide appropriate facilities like appropriate chair & table. |
3. Government, after careful examination of the matter, the Director, A.P. Open School Society, Guntur hereby permit to adopt the G.O. Ms. No.14 SE (Prog.II) Dept., dated. 31.01.2019 for extending the concessions and exemptions as detailed above, to the Children with Special Needs (CwSN) appearing for the SSC examinations by the APOSS in supersession of previous orders, subject to the production of original Medical Certificate issued by Medical Board with a minimum of 40% disability. The Director, A.P. Open School Society, Guntur shall take further action in the matter accordingly.
