Attention of all the District Educational Officers in the state are invited to the reference read above, wherein the Visually Challenged Employees Association, AP has requested to issue clarification to the DEOs/MEOs/HMs in the State that none of the visually impaired teachers shall be forced or compelled to engage other person to assist them in teaching during the School hours as some of the HMs insisting to engage other persons to assist them in teaching during the School hours.
Further, all the District Educational Officers in the state are informed that, in Government orders it is clearly mentioned that Readers Allowance is admissible to teachers and lecturers who are visually handicapped to engage Readers to assist them in reading various books so as to maintain professional standards and there are no instructions to engage readers during School hours.
Therefore, all the District Educational Officers in the state are informed that, Readers allowance is admissible to visually Handicapped Teachers to engage Readers to assist them in reading various books and it is not essential to engage readers during school hours only.
This has got the approval of the Commissioner of the School Education, AP, Ibrahimpatnam.
