Launching of Human Rights Pledge - Instructions Rc.No.288

Sub: School Education - Launching of Human Rights Pledge by National Human Rights Commission, New Delhi - Take up the Online Human Rights Pledge by all Officers, Staff members and Field Officers under their control - Request - Regarding.

     It is informed that, in the ref. the Joint Director, National Human Rights Commission, New Delhi has stated that, the NHRC, India in collaboration with India's National Informatics Centre (NIC) recently launched an 'Online Human Rights Pledge' which is available at the following link - http://pledge.mygov.in/nhrc/ for all concerned citizens and civil society and government organisations to sign to increase the reach of the Commission and enhance human rights awareness.
Further, NHRC stated that, interested individuals/organisations can take the 'Online Pledge' using the following steps:
a) Pledge taker (individual or organisation) can take pledge online by entering her/his details such as name, gender, aadhar no., date of birth, pin code, state, district, email, mobile no., etc. in the Entry Form.
b) In the next step, after selection of language, pledge is read by the pledge taker.
c) Pledge taker click on the 'Pledge' button to take pledge and enter a One Time Password (OTP) received on their mobile.
d) After the above three steps, a certificate of pledge is generated. This certificate can be printed, downloaded and is also sent to email ID of the pledge-taker.
The NHRC is taking up the issue of Online Pledge by all Govt and Non-Govt. Officers through the country over the next several months leading up to Silver Jubilee event on its Foundation Day (12th October, 2018), by which time it is hoped that several million pledges would have been recorded. The online Pledge system is also counted on the automatic counter for this purpose.
   Therefore all the Joint Directors of School Educational District Educational Officers / Principals of Teacher Education Institutions I Project Officers of SSA in the State may be requested to issue necessary instructions to the officers, staff and all field officers, who working under their control to take up the issue in the workshops / Seminars and also encourage General Public to take the said Online Human Rights Pledge, so that they may make human rights the cornerstone in the discharge of all their official duties and submit compliance.
