Dr. B.R.A.O.U - B.Ed. & B.Ed. (Special Education) Entrance Test-2017

      The B.Ed. Programme offered by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) is an innovative programme utilizing self-instructional material and information technology along with interactive personal contact programmes. It aims at developing understanding and competencies required by practicing teachers for effective teaching-learning process at the secondary stage. The Programme is essentially a judicious mix of theoretical and practical courses to develop the practicing teacher’s knowledge, skills, understanding and attitudes. Illustrations and cases of relevant situations and need-based activities comprise the core of each course of the programme.

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME:
The programme aims to enable practising teachers to achieve the following objectives:
a) To strengthen the professional competencies of in-service teachers.
b) To develop an understanding of the various methods and approaches of organising learning experiences for secondary school students.
c) To understand the nature of the learning process and develop skills required in selecting and organising learning experiences.
d) To develop skills involved in dealing with the academic and personal problems of learners.
e) To develop skills in selection, development and usage of evaluation tools and to develop an understanding of the various techniques of evaluation in the classroom.
f) To develop an understanding of various aspects of school management in organising various instructional and co-curricular activities.
DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME
 Minimum period to complete the programme from the date of registration: 2 years
 Maximum period to complete the programme from the date of registration: 5 years
MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION
The medium of instruction is Telugu. A student should write the answers in Year-end- Examination, Assignments and Records, Teaching Practice and Practical Lesson Records only in Telugu.
PROGRAMME FEE
The Programme fee is Rs. 25,000/- for the entire programme of two years. The total fee has to be paid at the time of admission in single payment through Demand Draft.


ELIGIBILITY TO APPEAR FOR THE B.Ed. ENTRANCE TEST
Candidate satisfying the following requirements shall be eligible to appear for the entrance test.
ADMISSION
Admissions are made strictly on the basis of merit in the Entrance Test. Only those candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria fixed by the University will be admitted. Centralised admissions will be done on the basis of the score obtained in the Entrance Test conducted by BRAOU. The candidate will be required to submit only the filled-in application form without any enclosures. The enclosures (documents) mentioned in the instructions for filling-in the application form to be submitted later after receiving the letter of offer for admission counselling to B.Ed. from the University after the entrance test.
ENTRANCE TEST
The Question paper of the Entrance will have 3 parts for 100 marks. The details are given below.
Part-A General English Comprehension - 25 Marks
Part-B Proficiency in Telugu - 25 Marks
Part-C General Mental Ability - 50 Marks
SCHEME OF THE ENTRANCE TEST
 The entrance test will be held on 06-08-2017 from 10.30 AM to 12.30 PM
 Candidates are expected in the examination hall by 10.00 AM.
 The entrance test will be for 100 Marks with 100 objective type (Multiple Choice) questions and is of 2 hours duration.
 The syllabus and the model questions are furnished separately in this booklet.
MEDIUM OF ENTRANCE TEST
 The question paper, except General English section, will be in Telugu.
Note: The Qualifying mark in the B.Ed. Entrance Test for all candidates, except SC/ST, is 35. For the candidates belonging to SC/ST communities ranking will be extended below the qualifying mark.
RANKING
Candidates will be ranked in the order of the merit in the B.Ed. entrance test. In case of candidates getting equal mark, Part-C marks will be taken into account to decide relative ranking. In case of tie the marks obtained in Part-B and then Part-A will be taken into account to decide relative ranking. In the case of candidates getting equal marks in each of the parts of the test paper, age shall be taken into consideration for relative ranking among the bracketed candidates, and the older candidates shall be given priority. The rank obtained in B.Ed. Entrance Test is valid for entry into B.Ed.
1. The candidate should be an Indian citizen.
2. Candidates should have passed with at least 50% of marks either B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.C.A./ B.Sc.(Home Science)/ BBM and/or the Masters Degree in Commerce/Social Sciences/ Humanities/Sciences (relevant subject of Methodology) at the time of submitting the application for B.Ed. Entrance Test. Candidates should have secured a minimum of 55% marks in B.E/B.Tech. with Science/ Mathematics as one of the subjects or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission into the B.Ed. ODL programme. However the candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC/PH should have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the qualifying examination.
3. Candidates who are appearing for final year examination in the Qualifying Examination (Bachelor or a Higher Degree) can also apply. But they will be required to submit the marks memo and pass certificate of Qualifying examination at the time of Admission Counselling. Otherwise they are not allowed for admission.
4. Apart from the above the candidates must fulfil any one of the following conditions as per NCTE-2014 New Regulations.
i. Should be Trained in-service teachers in elementary Education. (NCTE recognised Teacher training completed in-service Teachers in elementary education i.e. working in Govt/Aided/ MPP/ZPP/Govt. Recognised schools)
ii. Should have completed NCTE recognised Teacher Education programme through face-to-face mode (TTC/D.Ed./D.El.Ed./B.El.Ed./TPT/HPT/UPT/B.P.Ed./ D.P.Ed.-Qualification is must)
5. The reservation for SC/ST/BC/PH categories shall be as per the rules in force.
6. Candidate should have completed 21 years as on 1st July 2017. No upper age limit.
Note: As per the GOMS No: 92, the candidates who passed M.B.B.S/B.D.S/BPT/B.A.M.S./B.L/L.L.B/ B. Pharmacy B.A.(Languages)/BOL etc. and other such professional courses are not eligible for admission into B.Ed. course.
Note: Request for Re-Totalling and Re-evaluation or personal identification of scripts will not be entertained.
REGISTRATION FOR ENTRANCE TEST
The candidate has to register his/her candidature for appearing B.Ed. Entrance Test in University website www.braouonline.in and payment of registration fee through Debit/Credit Card OR any AP/TS ONLINE FRANCHISE CENTRE across the AP and Telangana on or before 15-07-2017
Go through the following instructions given below and register accordingly.
1. Visit University website www.braouonline.in
2. Fill the application form ON-LINE with the help of all your certificates/documents and latest Passport Size (5 x 3.7 size with JPEG format).[see the model application form at the end pages for the information you need to provide to fill the application ON-LINE & keep it ready with you ]
3. If any wrong information is provided in the application form, it is the responsibility of the applicant only and the University is not liable.
4. After submitting the form, get a printed copy of your Application Form and pay an amount of Rs.
400/- through Debit/Credit card OR Rs. 435/- at any AP/TS ONLINE FRANCHISE CENTRE
towards Registration Fee and obtain receipt for the same.
5. Please keep the printed Application Form and Fee receipt carefully with you for further reference
and to submit at the time of Admission Counselling.
Note: No Physical submission of application either at RCC or Head Quarters of University or at any other places is required.
EXAMINATION CENTRES
The Entrance Test will be held at the Regional Coordination Centres of BRAOU.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE CHOICE OF SUBJECT METHODOLOGIES/PEDAGOGIES IN B.Ed.
(G.O.Ms.No. 92, Education (SE-Trg-I) Department, dated 16-11-2006 and the amendments thereafter).
i. Mathematics: Candidate with B.A./ B.Sc. with Mathematics as one of the subjects, or B.C.A, B.E./ B.Tech. candidates with Mathematics at Intermediate level as a group subject.
ii. Physical Sciences: Candidates with B.Sc. who have studied Physical Sciences (Physics and Chemistry) or Allied Material Sciences as group subjects or B.E/B.Tech./ BCA candidates with Physical Sciences (Physics and Chemistry) at Intermediate level as group subjects.
iii. Biological Sciences: Candidates with B.Sc. / B.Sc. (Home Science) who have studied Botany and Zoology or Allied Life Sciences under Part - II group subjects or B.E/B.Tech./B.C.A. candidates with Biological Sciences at intermediate level as group subjects.
iv. Social Studies: All candidates with B.A./B.Com./B.B.M. or B.C.A. candidates with Social Sciences at intermediate level as group subjects.
Note: The percentage of number of candidates to be admitted in each methodology (subject) in the University shall be as follows:
(a) Mathematics: 30% (b) Physical Sciences: 15% (c) Biological Sciences: 25% (d) Social Studies: 30%
ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES TO BE SUBMITTED AT THE TIME OF B.Ed. ADMISSIONS
1. NCTE recognised Teacher Education Programme completion certificate
2. Degree/PG Provisional Certificate and Year wise Marks Memos/Consolidated Memo
3. Date of Birth Certificate / SSC Certificate
4. Service certificate as on date of the admission counselling in case of In-service Candidates
5. Integrated Caste Certificate, if applicable
6. Medical Board Certificate (for PH candidates)
7. Transfer Certificate
8. Migration Certificate.
9. Intermediate / 10+2 certificate.
10. Study Certificates (IX to Degree) or Residence

SERVICE CERTIFICATE (To be submit at the time of Admission Counselling)
The service certificate has to be signed by the employer concerned in case of applicants working in State Govt./Local Bodies/Aided/Private Recognized Schools, the service certificate has to be signed by the Head of the Institution and counter signed by the MEO. In Case of others the concerned Employer should counter signed.
