The Government of India has brought out a revised Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Vocationalisation of Secondary Education by integrating employability education into School Education in September 2011. The Scheme of “Vocationalisation of Higher Secondary Education”, approved in Sep.2011 which was further revised with the approval of the Cabinet Committee on Skill Development in 2014. The main reasons for revision were continuation of the scheme during the 12th Five-Year Plan, incorporating the learnings emerging out from the Haryana pilot on NVEQF and subsuming the scheme under the umbrella of Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA). The revised scheme is now known as “Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Vocationalisation of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education” (CSSVE). Hereafter referred to as the vocational education scheme.
The aim is to start the project work at level I (Class 9th) with the goal to make students employable when they complete 12th class.
